We live in a world where our children need to believe that dragons can be beaten and the hero always wins. That’s why it’s so important to read to our kids (and grandkids.)

If you’re limited on time, you can always listen to audiobooks together in the car with your kids like I do. Last summer, we listened to The Green Ember series by A.D. Smith — absolutely fantastic! Now, we’re enthralled in The Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis.

To me, there’s nothing sweeter than my kids asking me to read to them or to start playing the audiobook in the car.

As parents, when we feed our kids’ imaginations with stories of heroes and heroines, we’re also feeding their little spirits to believe that they, too, can overcome great adversity in their own stories.
