Heart rocks!
We’ve had several hard years with her epilepsy and getting her medicine just right—ups and downs and all-rounds until we found the perfect seizure control medicine to work best with her little body chemistry. It’s not something I talk about often, but finding the right medication is a real struggle for most families who have kids with epilepsy. There are just so many side effects!
.
And for many years, I felt we battled medicine and mood swings (hers and mine!!) more than I did a good job of capturing her heart.
.
BUT God!!! He shows out when we feel like we failed the most, and indeed, delivers—in ways only HE can do.
.
Here’s proof that during those hard, battleground years, I was not only able to still capture her heart, but now, when she sees hearts anywhere, she thinks of me, saves them, brings them inside as little surprises, and leaves them in random places with a sweet note. My little love-gifts, from my lovely, special little girl. God’s grace abounds! 😭❤️😭
.
Today, if life is hard with one of your kiddos, hang in there, Mama. Psalm 126:5 promises us,
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”
We CAN do hard things with God’s help!! Don’t forget He’s right there—gently guiding us along as we gently hold our kids’ hands, guiding them along. ❤️
.
✨ Do you share any special little things (like heart ❤️ rocks) with your kids that is unique to your relationship? I want to hear all about them.
Love, Macki
